Course Description: 700 Introduction to Property/Asset Management
INSTRUCTOR:
Blandon Granger is a recognized leader in public infrastructure real estate, specializing in electric utilities and telecommunications. At SMUD, the nation’s sixth-largest publicly owned electric utility, Blandon has managed all real estate activities essential to supporting the utility’s generation, transmission, distribution, retail, and administrative operations. His team oversees the acquisition, management, and disposition of critical land rights, enabling SMUD’s leadership in renewable technologies and energy project development.
With deep expertise spanning electric utilities, telecommunications, transportation, and various local government programs, Blandon brings comprehensive knowledge to the sector. He has served on the City of Roseville Public Utilities Commission, advising the city council on policies regarding evaluation, operations, and regulatory compliance for all of Roseville’s municipal utilities.
Blandon holds the International Right of Way Association’s Senior Agent (SR/WA) designation and is currently the Chair of IRWA’s International Electric and Utilities Committee. He also previously chaired the IRWA Asset Management Committee. His broad expertise and leadership continue to drive innovative and sustainable solutions in the public infrastructure real estate arena.
