INSTRUCTOR:
Colleen Brown is the Director of Property Services for NBDTI (Transportation & Infrastructure) for the Province of New Brunswick in Canada. She holds the AACI, P. App designation with the Appraisal Institute of Canada. She has over 30 years of experience in the real estate field with responsibility for managing the acquisition of all lands for highway and infrastructure projects, disposal of government surplus lands which includes valuation/appraisal and survey as well as rural development, corridor permitting, arbitration and court services. Colleen has recently became a CLIMB Certified Instructor and currently serves as Chair of the International Ethics Committee. In this role she has co-authored the newly written IRWA Course 102 – Elevating Your Ethical Awareness. She has served in many IRWA leadership roles throughout her career including Chapter, IGC, CRWEF and has been recognized as Regional Professional of the Year for Region 8. Also has served as Committee of Examiners for the New Brunswick Association of Real Estate Appraisers. Sharon N. Slauenwhite, SR/WA, BA, is Supervisor of Roads and Rights of Way for Prince Edward Island's Department of Transportation, Infrastructure and Energy. She has worked in real property law and public infrastructure for over 25 years in both the private and public sectors. Her current position requires expertise in communication, negotiation, property management, title research, and contracts. Her role requires working with property owners, public and private sector partners, municipal governments, as well as the public. Sharon has a Bacherlor of Arts degree (BA) from the University of Prince Edward Island as well a certificate in Public Sector Leadership. For the past 15 years she has been an elected member of her local municipal council, as well as sitting on several NGO boards and committees. Sharon has been an IRWA member since 2003 and has enjoyed serving in leadership roles with Chapter 65, Region 8, the International Governing Council and the Canadian Right of Way Education Foundation. She is an IRWA CLIMB certified instructor and presently serves as International Vice President on the IRWA's International Executive Committee.
