Course 239i: Principles of Wind Energy, Land Rights, and Acquisition is a one-day course, which explores the high-level development process for utility scale wind energy projects, including siting considerations, the unique nature of landowner agreements, payment structures and content, and permitting requirements. The course will also provide an overview of the construction process and real estate asset management considerations. At the conclusion of this course, you will be able to identify and understand:
• Key siting criteria for wind development.
• The development process and timing.
• Key landowner or community concerns.
• Agreement provisions and payment structures.
• Key permitting considerations.
• Asset management strategies.
INSTRUCTOR:
Mary Anne Marr, SR/WA is the Director of Real Estate for Consumers Energy, a Michigan based utility providing electric service to 1.8 million customers and gas service to 1.7 million customers. Her responsibilities include acquisition, management and disposition of all real estate holdings. With over 30 years in the real estate profession, Mary Anne has been involved in multiple large-scale real estate divestitures, acquisitions and infrastructure projects. Mary Anne is a Certified General Appraiser in the State of Michigan. Mary Anne has been involved in IRWA leadership, serving at both the chapter and regional level and is also a past International President of the International Right of Way Association.
