Attention Easement Right of Way (ERW) Agents:
IRWA is now approved as a Qualifying Education (QE) Provider for TREC-ERW.  Please follow the guidelines below so you may be credited with the correct education credits.
For Agents who hold the ERW license:
After taking and passing the exam for either Course 100 or Course 803, please ask you course coordinator for the TREC-ERW roster. Complete and sign the roster, and then ask the course coordinator to forward it to Maggie Schedler at She will post this information to the TREC education posting website.
If you took the course virtually, please go to and fill out the form. If you are requesting TREC (Real Estate Agent or Broker) or TALCB credits, IRWA has 10 days (this includes weekends) to report your credits.  Please follow the link provided to request your TREC/TALCB credits.

Course Description:  803 Eminent Domain Law Basics for Right of Way Professionals

Scott R. Davis is an attorney with and founding member of the law firm Hicks Davis Wynn, P.C. located in Houston, Texas.  Prior to co-founding HDW, Mr. Davis was a partner at the law firm Beirne, Maynard and Parsons, LLP, which was also located in Houston, Texas.  Mr. Davis has been focusing on eminent domain and property litigation work for approximately fifteen years, primarily representing condemning authorities such as electric utilities, pipeline companies, drainage districts and water districts.  Mr. Davis has experience in the eminent domain process, including title issues that arise, has participated in numerous administrative hearings, and worked on trials and appeals of real property and eminent domain matters.  Mr. Davis is a member of the State Bar of Texas and has been recognized as a Super Lawyer® “Texas Rising Star,” multiple times, and was named as a BTI Client Service All-Star in 2015.  Mr. Davis is a member of IRWA Chapter 008 and is an IRWA CLIMB Certified Instructor for the following courses: 203 – Alternative Dispute Resolution; 800 – Principles of Real Estate Law; 801 – United States Land Titles; 802 – Legal Aspects of Easements; 803 – Eminent Domain law Basics for Right-of-way Professionals; and 804 – Skills of Expert Testimony.
