Problems in the Valuation of Partial Acquisitions Course 431 – Problems in the Valuation of Partial Acquisitions: This course is intended for appraisers experienced with “typical” circumstances who want to go beyond the basics and deal with more “atypical” situations that may be interpreted differently by different appraisers. Often there is more than one right answer to the question of the total value acquired. There are few absolute “yes” or “no” determinations for most of the topics discussed. | Course Number: | C431 | | Course Title: | Problems in the Valuation of Partial Acquisitions | | Course Level: | Advanced | | Course Length: | 2 days, 8 AM to 5PM | IRWA Credits: AQB Credits: | 16 QEU/CEU | | Prerequisites: | IRWA Course 421: The Valuation of Partial Acquisitions |
Course Description Course 431 is an advanced appraisal course that deals with the valuation of partial acquisitions. As such, basic calculations in some tables, like the depreciated costs of site improvements or direct capitalization, are completed for course participants and are provided for context. It is expected that participants understand such concepts. This should offer more time to focus on the challenges and different methods for solving the problems.
The point of many exercises in this course is to focus less on the mechanics of the calculations and more on why certain decisions are made.
