Course Description: 209 Negotiating Effectively with a Diverse Clientele

INSTRUCTORS:

Janet Walker, SR/WA, BGS, MA-IS (AE) is a CLIMB-certified IRWA Instructor.  Janet has 21 years of experience in oil and gas industry with the National Energy Board (now Canadian Energy Regulator) and private industry.  She has experience negotiating complex agreements with landowners, engaging with communities, developing consultation, and hearing packages, participating in regulatory hearings, and managing projects. Janet has a master’s degree with a Major in Adult Education.  

 

Gloria Whittaker, SR/WA, R/W-NAC, is a recently-certified IRWA Instructor with 17 years of experience in infrastructure real estate. Gloria’s career began in government before becoming a non-exclusive consultant in 2023, with a primary focus on telecommunications and renewable energy. Gloria has a passion for seeking win-win solutions in complex negotiations with multiple stakeholders, and has participated in numerous public consultation processes. Gloria has recently contributed to the development of two new IRWA courses on solar and geothermal energy and was proudly named IRWA Chapter 29’s Professional of the Year for 2022.
